Xiaomi to launch its first phablet Max on 10 May: Features and specs revealed

The overall design of Max phablet will be quite similar to the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 5.

While Apple has launched small screen device iPhone SE, Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi is all set to launch its first large screen device Max on 10 May in China. This is the first time in Xiaomi's history that they are launching a phablet.

There were a lot of rumours around this device but Xiaomi has ended them all by announcing the launch date. Max did appear on the benchmark sites sometime back and the specifications of the device were revealed.

Max will feature a 6.4" full HD 1920*1080p display screen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon hexacore processor clocked at 1.8 GHz and Adreno 510 GPU. It will have 16 GB internal memory of which 10GB will be available for the users and 2GB ram.

The rear camera on the device is 16MP and is capable of recording 4K videos while the front camera is 5MP that can shoot HD videos. The battery on the device will be the surprise factor as mentioned by Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun.

It will feature a full metal body along with a fingerprint scanner on front housed under the home button. The overall, design of the device will be quite similar to the recently launched Mi 5 however, the biggest change would that the Mi logo has been shifted to the back side of the device.

Although, if we go by the rumours, Max will be priced around 1799 CNY or USD 275, which if true, will be a very attractive price for this device. However, let us wait till the 10th of May to find out the actual pricing of Mi Max
