Korean star couple Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, and Gong Yoo emerged as the top favorite TV actors in 2017.
The ranking was based on a survey by Gallup Korea for its annual 'Person of the Year.' The poll was conducted from November 8 to 28 among 1,700 Koreans aged 13 and above.
Gallup Korea earlier released the Top 10 favorite movie actors, where Song Kang Ho and Ma Dong Seok topped the list.
Song Joong Ki, who did not appear in any drama project this year, topped the survey with 17.9 percent while his wife, Song Hye Kyo was placed third with 9.5 percent. Gallup Korea said that despite that the two had no new dramas this year, their surprise wedding announcement last July was more dramatic. The two met and became lovers while starring in the hit drama Descendants of the Sun.
Gong Yoo also had no new drama this year but the effects of his hit project Goblin lingered among viewers. Goblin ran from December 2, 2016, to January 21, 2017.
In an interview with ELLE Korea magazine, Gong Yoo said he was exhausted after filming Goblin and took time out.
"Aren't there times when you are busy and stressed for a long time and just collapse when it's over? Both physically and mentally, all the painful things came upon me all at once. After falling apart, holding on, and letting go, I think I've finally returned to who I am and had a little time to myself," he said.
He said doing nothing was "hard but I did want to do a movie this year. However, when I was ready to do it, there weren't any productions at hand. I've been thinking lately that I want to become a member of a group of like-minded people telling a new story again."
Park Bogum also did not have any project this year but he was placed fourth with 8.3 percent followed by While You Were Sleeping stars Lee Jong Suk and Suzy who were placed fifth and sixth with 7 percent and 4.3 percent, respectively.
Actress Kim Hee Sun is seventh with 4.2 percent while tied for eight place are Lee Soon Jae and Kim Joo Hyuk with 3.2 percent, followed by Go Doo Shim and Kim Hae Sook with 3.1 percent.
