The marriage of Malaysian actor Shaheizy Sam Abdul Samad and Siti Nur Syatilla Amirol Melvin next week is billed as the 'wedding of the year' thanks to the 25 million Ringgit sponsorship the event has attracted.

The marriage of the reigning screen star Sam and Syatilla, a rising television star, will take place on February 8.

"We got along great from the start because both of us like films and TV series that contain meaningful and exciting stories," Sam said about his decision to end bachelorhood, the New Straits Times said.

The most expensive celebrity wedding in Malaysia so far in history will see the around 20 million ringgit spent on bridal jewellery alone, says Malay News.

The sponsors of the wedding include Ceres Jewels Malaysia, Altelia Amani, Lady Arisaa Couture, Lord's Tailor, Jakel, Arma Couture and Qudyn KL, the report says.

Prior to this, the record for the most lavish wedding in the country was the RM13 million wedding of actress Rozita Che Wan and actor beau Zain Saidin.

Sam and Syatilla will sport Syaiful Bahahim's designs and a pair of A pair of bespoke white gold diamond wedding rings worth RM128,000 for the nikah ceremony.

The bridal crown is an RM8million white gold tiara featuring more than 100 carats of sparkling diamonds.

The wedding cake is an English royalty-style eight-tier cake with different flavour in each tier, costing RM12,000.

The grand celebration will take place at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on February 14 with around 1,100 guests attending.
