Last Tintin comic strip expected to sell for more than $59,000 in auction The last major illustration by Tintin creator Herge will be put up for auction on Saturday (21 October) in Liege. Herge made the drawing, that included Tintin, his dog Snowy, Captain Haddock and a host of familiar characters, as a study for a mural at the Stockel metro station in Brussels.

NASAs ICON satellite to study ionosphere, space weather NASA plans to launch a new satellite, the Ionospheric Connection Explorer, or ICON, on 8 December. Orbiting above the upper atmosphere, through the bottom edge of near-Earth space, ICON will observes both the upper atmosphere and a layer of charged particles called the ionosphere, which extends from about 50 to 360 miles above the surface of Earth. ICON will observe how interactions between Earths weather and the ionosphere create bright swaths of color in the sky, known as airglow, as well as other changes in the space environment.

Search continues for missing toddler Sherin Mathews Police in Richardson, Texas continue to search for three-year-old Sherin Mathews. The toddler was reportedly left outside in the middle of the night by her father, Wesley Mathews, as punishment for not drinking her milk, according to local police.
