Bees cause traffic chaos after descending on van in New York A swarm of bees had to be vacuumed after they began swarming a bright yellow van in New York City. Police blocked off part of 47th Street between Madison and Fifth Avenue until a beekeeper managed to contain them all. Nobody knows where the bees came from but they were not harmed in the process.

Stop being so nasty to Tiger Woods, pleads golf player Martin Kaymer Former world number one golfer Martin Kaymer spoke to his fans on Twitter on 1 June asking them to be nicer to Tiger Woods following the former champions arrest on 29 May. Woods was charged with driving under the influence and a video shows him slurring his words during a police interview. Martin Kaymer called the treatment of Woods by the public unfair and very disrespectful and suggested people should try to help the golf star instead.

He spoke on 30 May, before US President Donald Trump announced the United States would be leaving the climate treaty. Dolphins are intelligent enough to operate touchscreens The eight-foot screen was created complete with dolphin friendly apps and keyboard so the animals in the aquarium could interact with it. With the device, researchers have developed a range of studies to better understand dolphin vocal learning, their capacity for symbolic communication and how their behaviour changes when they are able to use the computer to make requests—for specific videos, images and interactive games etc.

Vili Fualaau files for separation from Mary Kay LeTorneau Vili Fualaau has filed for separation from his wife and former teacher, Mary LeTorneau. LeTourneau was convicted of raping Fualaau when he was 12 years old and eventually served 7.5 years in prison. The two married in 2005.

Police officer plays divine game of football with Irish nun Garda OConnell of the Henry St Community Policing Unit in Limerick city was spotted in a tense standoff with a member of the Dominican Sisters in Limerick during the Our Lady of Limerick Triduum and Festival. A video of the game was shared to Facebook by the Garda Siochanas Southern Region page on 31 May.

Suspect wanted over theft of Portland train stabbing victims wedding ring Portland Police released a video on 1 June of a man suspected of stealing the wedding ring and backpack of Ricky Best, a victim of the 26 May Portland train stabbing. Best was one of two men fatally stabbed after they intervened when a man launched a racist rant at two women, one wearing a hijab, aboard a Portland Train.

Protesters speak out against Paris Agreement withdrawal Protesters outside the White House called US President Donald Trump a puppet of the polluters after he announced the US would withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. During his statement Trump said the treaty was not really about climate change but instead aimed to give countries an economic advantage over the US Syria and Nicaragua are the only two other countries which havent signed the agreement.
