K-pop stars' Music Bank tour sets Singapore on fire

The three-hour show was attended by more than 7000 fans and will be aired in KBS and Mediacorp's Channel 8.

The Music Bank tour 2017 held at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore was nothing short of a visual extravaganza. K-pop stars set the stage on fire with their vibrant performances. Some of the main highlights of the event came from boy bands SHINee, CNBLUE and BTS and girl groups Mamamoo and Red Velvet. Not only this, the big music event was hosted by Nation's boyfriend Park Bo-gum along with Irene of Red Velvet and Singaporean DJ Lim Peifen.

The three-hour show was attended by more than 7000 fans and will be aired in KBS and Mediacorp's Channel 8. The tickets were priced between $148 to $288 and were completely sold out within minutes from opening the counter.

Mamamoo's retro-rich vocals, Red Velvet's candy-coloured tunes, CNBlue's veteran rock hooks, SHINee's electrifying dance moves and BTS' fiery anthem needs a special mention. The night's program also had a special slot dedicated for drama OSTs. Songs from "Love in the Moonlight" and "Descendants of the Sun" were rendered by various artists. To celebrate Singapore's 52nd birthday, the entire clad of singers lineup and performed National Day favourite, Singapura, Sunny Island—of course, fans went crazy as it was a total surprise move.

Hosted by KBS, the Music Bank tour features multiple K-pop acts in various locations outside of South Korea. The journey began in July 2011 from Tokyo and has been held in multiple cities across Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East with an estimated global live audience of 180,000. The next pitstop for the tour is Jakarta in September. Music Bank is returning to Jakarta after almost four years and the lineup for the tour includes EXO, BAP, girl group GFriend, Newbie wonders ASTRO, and rookie group NCT127.
