Over the past few weeks, there was a widespread speculation on the media regarding BTS's comeback with a full-fledged album. Some even claimed that the album would be titled Love Yourself.

Now, a representative from BTS had clarified to Soompi that the comeback news is indeed true and they are planning for an album release in September. However, BTS agency BigHit Entertainment is yet to finalise on whether the album will be a full-fledged or mini version.

A recent report on AllKPop reported, "The upcoming album will release drama-style videos with story lines for each member. To prepare for this release, BigHit Entertainment is in the process of contacting talented writers and actors to execute BTS' new project."

However, BTS' agency Big Hit Entertainment has clarified that though there are thoughts of making a new album nothing has been finalised yet. The statement added, "We are currently planning a new project for this year and next year. Nothing has been officially started. It's only in the early stages. There are a variety of BTS projects in the works, and we've have looked for writers, but nobody has been chosen yet. Nothing has been decided yet."

The boys recently wrapped up their Japanese debut with '2017 BTS Live Episode III The Wings Tour Japan Edition.'Their seventh single Blood, Sweat and Tears released in Japan last month and topped the weekly Oricon Chart, the country's largest music chart. In addition, their Spring Day MV from the album You Never Walk Alone becomes BTS' seventh work to surpass 100 million views on YouTube. The melancholic track is a fusion of hip-hop, rock instrumentals and EDM synths—further laced with rap breaks. The music video is directed by BTS regular Lumpens (YongSeok Choi) and is kind of an ode to dead love.

The seven-member boy band made their debut in June 2013 with the song "No More Dream" from their album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. Their debut album won several awards including the 2013 MelOn Music Awards and Golden Disk Awards, and the 2014 Seoul, South Korea Music Awards. "Most Beautiful Moment in Life trilogy" is their most popular album to date. It comprises of Rap Monster, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, and V. To date, BTS's discography has sold an estimated 2.7 million albums worldwide.
