E-commerce giant Amazon announced its entry into South-east Asia by launching its Prime Now services in Singapore.
Prime Now app, which offers everything from eggs and ice cream to baby strollers and consumer electronics, is the first Amazon retail service to launch in Singapore.
Prime Now is an exclusive service for members of Amazon Prime, which will be available in Singapore to try without a Prime membership for a limited period.
Prime Now is available from 10:00 to 22:00, seven days a week and offers free two-hour delivery on orders of S$40 or more, Amazon said in a statement.
The company will also offer a one-hour expedited delivery service for S$9.99 per shipment.
Southeast Asia, with its 600 million consumers, will be a huge market for the U.S. retailer.
The Amazon Prime service is currently available in the U.S. for U.S.$99 per annum. Amazon Prime provides free-shipping on international goods for an annual fee.
