YG Entertainment's new rapper One has officially debuted as a solo artist. The former member of the disbanded duo 1Punch released the single album "One Day," which contains the songs "Getting By" and "Heyahe" on July 11. The accompanying music videos were also released.

One joined YG Entertainment in 2015 after 1Punch disbanded and he appeared on the rap show "Show Me The Money 4."

According to YG Entertainment, he wrote the lyrics of "Getting By" and co-wrote the music with Cha Cha Malone, member of AOMG. One and Groovy Room wrote the lyrics for "Heyahe." During a press event in Seoul, One thanked the people who helped him in starting over again.

"Teddy and Kush gave me words of good advice. I look forward to my new beginning. I sent a text message to Mr. Yang Hyun Suk and he replied, 'Do your best and stay health.' I was so touched by his message," One said, according to the YG blog.

He said that he "put many of the feelings I had when I was writing 'Gettin' by' in the song," adding that it expressed his feelings at age 23. "I tried to express the sex appeal that exists in me in 'Heyahe.'"

His former partner in 1Punch, Kim Samuel, joined "Produce 101" and ended up in the Top 20. Kim Samuel will make his own solo debut in August.

One said debuting as a solo artist was a dream. "It didn't seem real all the way until I arrived here today. I still can't believe I'm making solo debut," he said. "I have been preparing for my solo debut for two or three years. That was the time to find out who I am. I have been pondering upon who I am and what style is the best for me."

He thanked people at YG Entertainment but feels pressured knowing that he is the agency's first male solo artist in 14 years. "Of course I feel a sense of burden about the fact that I'm YG's first male solo artist in 14 years. Anyway, I'm controlling the burden, trying to enjoy working", he said.
