The recent cabinet reshuffle in UAE has taken everybody by surprise as the country appointed its first ever minister of state for Artificial Intelligence. The second largest economy in the Arab world has decided to give a dedicated slot for artificial intelligence in the cabinet after understanding the potential of various technologies in shaping the economy in the future. The news of this new slot in the cabinet is revealed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Prime Minister.
UAE starts the mega technological journey
Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, the newly appointed minister will now head UAE's moves to emerge as a front-runner in the global technology revolution, which is aimed at building homes in Mars by 2117.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a ruler known for his obsession towards various innovations in the world of technology, and his new decision to appoint a minister for artificial intelligence once again prove that UAE is all set to emerge as a big name in the world of technology. After revealing the news of the new appointment, the UAE Prime Minister said that the UAE government is quite keen in developing science and research in the country.
By planning a Mars colony, UAE is joining the elite list of countries like the US, China, and Russia who have already triggered their Mars ambitions. Space X led by Elon Musk is also planning to send people to the red planet. The Mars colony initiative of UAE is much bigger compared to other countries. By 2117, UAE aims to create a fully functioning city capable to occupy 6,00,000 in Mars.
"The landing of people on other planets has been a longtime dream for the entire humankind. UAE will spearhead international efforts to make this dream a reality," Rashid Al Maktoum was quoted as saying.
Earlier, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has revealed that a dedicated Artificial Intelligence strategy is a major part of the UAE Centennial 2070 objectives.
