Korean singer-actress Suzy and actor Lee Jong Suk will star in the new SBS drama "While You Were Sleeping," which will air its first episode on September 27.

In the drama, Suzy plays Nam Hong-joo, a former journalist who dreams of bad events before they happen in real life. Prosecutor Jung Jae-chan is played by Lee Jong Suk.

During a press conference in Seoul, Suzy said that in the drama, "We are asking if it's possible to change the course of our lives if we tried, and if so, what would be the consequences?"

The drama's director is Oh Chung-hwan who helmed the hit series "My Love from the Star" and "Doctors."

"In a nutshell, it is a story about locking the stable door after the horse is stolen. We constantly make decisions and accept the outcome. From time to time, we wonder what kind of outcome a different decision would have produced," he explained the drama's main story.

Lee Jong Suk said he decided to star in the drama partly because of its writer, Park Hae-ryeon who wrote "Pinocchio" and "I Hear Your Voice."

"It is my third time working with the writer. In this drama, we often talk about decisions. I told her that working with her is one of the best career decisions I have made so far," he said.

Suzy added that "on top of my wish to work with the writer again, the script was simply too interesting to pass up."

Lee Jong Suk said if he is given the power to see the future, "I hope to see myself spending yet another ordinary day with serenity of mind" but added that he doesn't want even if it's possible.

"I think it is just tragic to be too different from other people," he said.

But Suzy is curious to know her lifespan.

"I am curious how long I would live. What if I had only a few days of my life remaining? Then I would have to live today more fully," she said.
