Shindong of Korean boy band Super Junior revealed Lee Seung Gi got him into extreme exercise in the military. The boy band member completed his mandatory military service in December 2016.

During the latest episode of Video Star, the 31-year-old artist talked Seung Gi made him follow the exercise regime. He said: "Lee Seung Gi is currently in the special forces. Every morning, special forces soldiers would alternate running five kilometers (approximately three miles) for two days and 10 kilometers (approximately six miles) for another two days. Plus, they do this with their shirts off."

"Thanks to this, [Lee Seung Gi] has really gotten into exercising. One day he came to me and said, 'Hyung, you can't stay like this. You have to exercise. I'll make an exercise program for you.'"

"Later, he told me to follow him because he made an exercise curriculum for me. So I exercised as he told me to. He planned all these exercises himself. But this session went on for an hour and a half! When I was done, I threw up," he added.

Adding on, during the show, Shindong was asked about his weight gain. He responded: "I think it's different by the person. Many people think I've gained weight but surprisingly, I've actually lost weight at the time I got discharged. I have delayed enlistment for 6 months because of herniated disc. I couldn't move my body so I recorded my heaviest weight then. That was the heaviest in my life. Then I lost 17kg (~34lbs) in the training center and then I started gaining weight as my rank increased. I'm on a diet now."
