Star Awards 2016: Julie Tan's three word winning speech at the event

Singaporean actress also bagged Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste trophy.

It was a proud moment for Singaporean actress Julie Tan, when she stepped up to the stage to accept the Rocket Award Champion trophy at Star Awards 2016 Part 1.

Tan is the youngest of the lot to bag the prestigious Rocket Award for her performances in the Singapore entertainment industry.

The 23-year-old actress got very emotional while accepting the trophy at the stage. She summarised her winning speech in only three words saying: "I've made it."

While Tan was not prepared for the win, the actress took the opportunity to speak about her emotions backstage. The actress revealed in her interview with Toggle: "In school, whenever I said I wanted to be an actress, I would be told not to daydream and to be more realistic, to focus on getting good results and getting into a good university. However, I want to say (to those who like me), 'You can do it, don't feel alone, and chase your dreams without limits."

On asked whether she is feeling the pressure for her future performances after the win, the Malasyian born star added: "I'm quite harsh on myself, so I give myself the biggest pressure."

"I've always worked hard, and I won't work hard just because of this award. I believe (my acting journey) is like a marathon, and I have to continuously improve myself," the Peace and Prosperity actress said. Along with the Rocket Champion Award, Tan also grabbed Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste trophy at the annual award ceremony.
