Reckless reporting during Hurricane Irma criticised Reporters battled up to 130mph winds to highlight hurricane Irma and amp;#39;s strength, with some hardly able to speak or stand whilst reporting live. Critics have criticised this as reckless behaviour whilst others suggest it highlights just how powerful a tropical storm can be.

Drone footage captures Hurricane Irma destruction in Saint Martin Drone footage has captured the full extent of damage from Hurricane Irma on the Caribbean island Saint Martin.Ten people died on the French territory and many of the buildings were damaged. France has pledged $60 million to rebuild both St. Barts and the French half of Saint Martin.

NASA captures mesmerizing footage of strongest solar flare in a decade NASAs Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has recorded the Sun emitting one of the strongest solar flare in a decade on 6 September. The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center issued a geomagnetic storm warning for September 13 and 14. The storm can impact satellites, navigation and communications systems but will also mean that the aurora borealis (northern lights) will be more vivid for skywatchers.

Humanoid robot YuMi conducts orchestra YuMi the humanoid robot, made by Swiss firm ABB, made its debut at Pisas Verdi Theatre on 12 September, raising its baton to conduct the Lucca Philharmonic orchestra alongside Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. YuMi, was taught all the movements by the usual conductor Andrea Colombini, who held its arms in rehearsals so the computer could memorize the correct gestures.

130-tonne fatberg found clogging east London sewer One of the biggest fatbergs ever seen in Britain has been found blocking a Victorian-era, east London sewer. The rock-solid mass of wet wipes, nappies, fat and oil stretches as long as three soccer pitches and weighs as much as 10 double-decker buses. In 2013, a similar but smaller fatberg was found in a sewer in Kingston, southwest of London.

The budget of the Commission on Human Rights was cut from $38m to $20, but the new proposal still requires approval by the Philippines Senate.
