This is how diamond rings are made Meet Stephen Barnard, a 65-year-old Londoner who has been making jewellery for over 50 years. After leaving school at the age of 15, he joined an apprenticeship at Hatton Garden, the epicentre of Londons jewellery trade since medieval times. Barnard now heads a team of jewellers for 77 Daiamonds, an online and in-store diamond retailer based in Mayfair. IBTimes UK visited his workshop to find out the intricate process of how diamond rings are made.

US Navy rescues 2 female mariners and their dogs stranded at sea for months Two female US mariners and their dogs, stranded at sea for more than five months, were rescued on Wednesday (25 October) by a US Navy ship near Japan. Jennifer Appel, 48, and her friend Tasha Fuiava, both from Honolulu, had set off from Oahu — an island in Hawaii — for Tahiti in French Polynesia on 3 May, but encountered problems while sailing and got lost.

Romes Trevi Fountain runs red after man pours dye in water The waters of Romes Trevi Fountain, one of Italys top tourist attractions, turned red on October 26 after a man dumped dye into the main pool, a city official said. Police detained the man responsible, a statement from the mayors office said, as city officials assessed if there had been any damage to the 18th century landmark.

Kennedy but yielded to pressure from the FBI and CIA to block the release of some information to be reviewed further over the next 180 days. Trump allowed the immediate release of the secret files by the National Archives on 26 October following a last-minute scramble to meet a deadline set by the Congress in 1992.
