Community gathers for tribute to Grenfell Tower victims, applauds firefighters Londoners gathered near Grenfell Tower in a tribute to the victims of the deadly blaze. At least 58 people are feared to have died in the fire on June 14. Residents showed their anger towards the government and the local authority because of a lack of support for survivors, friends and family of victims. Prime Minister Theresa May admitted the response from authorities was lacking. During the tribute, the community applauded firefighters leaving Grenfell Tower to thank them for their tireless work.

Premature baby elephant enjoys first bath time This premature baby elephant is loving its first bath. The female calf was born in early June and is being raised by zookeepers at Pittsburgh Zoo.Her mother wasnt producing enough milk for her. She wont be on display for several more months but the zoo keeps fans updated in a blog.Until then she gets to enjoy her private bath and play time.

Beyoncé has given birth to twins, reports say According to unidentified sources Beyoncé has given birth to twins in Los Angeles. Celebrity news sites reported the singer and husband Jay Z were seen at a L.A. hospital earlier this week. No further details on the exact date of birth or the sex of the infants were given. The reports have not been confirmed by a representative for Beyoncé yet. The post announcing the pregnancy in February became the most-liked Instagram post ever after only 24 hours.

Watch disturbing moment Afghan asylum seeker is slapped by UK immigration officer A video has emerged showing an airline passenger being restrained by an immigration officer. The man was on board the Turkish Airlines flight from London Heathrow to Istanbul. He can be heard saying that he is an Afghani asylum seeker being deported to Afghanistan. Ahtzaz Ali, who recorded the video, said the man became agitated before the flight took off. He reported the man was slapped and pushed by the officer before being removed from the flight. The cabin crew attempted to stop Ali from recording the incident, he says.  A Home Office spokesman said it did not comment on individual cases.

Second round of French parliamentary election begins The second round of the French parliamentary elections has begun. French President Emmanuel Macrons party Republic on the Move (LREM) is expected to win a large majority. Even though LREM is only a year old some polls predict it will secure up to 80% of seats. Marine Le Pens Front National is predicted to win only between one and six seats. Turnout for the election has been at a record low after months of campaigning and voting.

Some of them were driving when they got caught in the blaze making it the deadliest forest fire in Portugal in decades. 59 more people including several firefighters were injured and two are still missing. Firefighters have not yet managed to bring the fire under control.

Explosion in Colombian shopping centre toilet kills 3 An explosion in a Bogota shopping centre has killed three women and wounded nine others. A device detonated in a toilet bowl in a restroom in the upscale Andino shopping area. One of the victims was a 23-year-old French woman who volunteered in a poor area of Bogota. The shopping centre was busy with people shopping for Fathers Day gifts. It is yet unknown who is responsible for the attack.

58 people missing presumed dead in Grenfell Tower fire, police confirms At least 58 people were killed in the fire that destroyed Grenfell Tower in Kensington, Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy told reporters. If confirmed this would make the Grenfell fire the deadliest in Britains history since World War II. Cundy also warned that the number of victims may still increase since some people may not have been reported missing yet.

Prince George looks royally unamused at the Queens birthday celebrations Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 91st birthday on Saturday but Prince George was less than impressed to be up on the balcony of Buckingham Palace again. The three-year-old seemed bored at the beginning of the Royal Air Force display but he cheered up on the first sight of the fly-past. Maybe the young prince was struggling in the heat. Princess Charlotte on the other hand seemed to have great fun at her second fly-past.

Guardsman collapses during Queens birthday celebrations The heat at the Queens Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 17 was too much for a guardsman. He fainted during the performance at Horse Guards parade with the Royal Family and thousands of spectators watching. Five Guardsmen in total fainted during the ceremony and had to be stretchered off while the others marched on.

Massive sea lion casually blocks traffic in middle of Chilean town A massive sea lion took a break in the middle of the road in a seaside town in Chile. The animal appeared completely relaxed as cars slowly drove around it. According to Rodrigo Toro, who filmed the video, sea lions occasionally venture into town in search for food.
