Huge landslide buries eight vehicles on busy road in China A car dashcam captured the moment a huge landslide buried multiple cars in the Guangxi Zhuang region of China on 12 July. Three people were injured in the landslide, one of whom was sent to hospital with leg and back injuries. It is thought the accident was caused by continuous rainfall.

Kurdish fighters say British citizen killed fighting Islamic State Kurdish fighters said on July 11, that Luke Rutter, a British citizen who volunteered to fight with the YPG, had been killed fighting against Islamic State forces near Raqqa. The YPG say that Rutter, who was 22 and from Birkenhead, travelled to join the Kurdish forces in March and had taken the name Soro Zinar.

Rare footage shows Hiroshima 10 years before it was obliterated by nuclear bomb The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum released digitally remastered footage on July 6 that shows Hiroshima in April 1935, 10 years before a U.S. nuclear bomb was dropped on the city toward the end of the Second World War.The rare video, said to have been donated to the museum in 1963, shows everyday scenes along the Motoyasu River, including the Aioi Bridge, the intended target of the atomic bomb. The bomb detonated at 540m directly above the nearby Shima Hospital on the left bank of the river.
