Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with an investigation into several animals being killed at an Oklahoma City pet store.

The Oklahoma City Police Department reported the animals were killed on July 13, after a male and female walked into the pet store about 12 miles northwest of downtown.

The man, identified as Christopher Brooks Jameson, turned himself in Saturday after an arrest warrant was issued Friday. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a complaint of cruelty to animals, as reported by The Oklahoman.

According to a police report, the pair entered the pet store just before 3:30 p.m., and prior to the alleged killings, they interacted with a puppy at the store, which was unharmed.

Inside the store, Police reported the teen broke the neck of a caged parakeet, then reportedly strangled a rabbit while the woman exited the store. The report also indicated that he stole a hamster and a guinea pig before leaving the store.

According to an affidavit, the woman contacted Oklahoma City police on July 26 after seeing the department's Facebook post requesting the public's help in identifying the pair. She told police that she was unaware any animals were killed until she saw the post.

After leaving the pet store, the woman told police she and Jameson drove to Mitch Park in Edmond to wash off the animals in the park bathrooms. She took the hamster into one bathroom and returned to her vehicle while he took the guinea pig to the other bathroom, but when Jameson exited the other bathroom "after some time," the guinea pig was not moving.

The woman told police Jameson took the guinea pig to bury it, told her the bathroom was covered in blood, and took a video of the blood to show her. When she dropped him off at a friend's house, the hamster was alive, court documents state.

The following day, police said store staff found the hamster stomped to death in the Petland parking lot, and Edmond authorities found the guinea pig and a bloody bathroom at the park.

The investigation into this animal cruelty incident is currently ongoing, with both Animal Services and the police involved.
