Mystery Queen beats other competing dramas in viewership ratings

SBS's "Saimdang, Light's Diary" and MBC's "Radiant Office," which air during the same time slot, received 8.3 percent and 6.7 percent ratings, respectively.

The Wednesday-Thursday drama of KBS2, "Mystery Queen" recorded the highest viewership ratings for its time slot. The detective series starring Choi Kang-hee, Kwon Sang-woo, Lee Won-keun and Shin Hyun-bin received 10.9 percent ratings for the episode aired on April 20, which is 3.2 percent higher than its previous episode, Nielson Korea reported as cited by Soompi.

The show which is gaining popularity slowly is mainly about a woman, Yoo Seol Ok who always wanted to be a police officer and even studied every year for the exam but has never actually taken it. As she is the wife of a prosecutor, she is stuck at home and is tired of her demanding mother-in-law. She often thinks about divorce but her divorced friend advises her against it.

However, her life changes when she gets a chance meet a police chief, Wan-seung, as it reignites her interest in police work. Seol-ok constantly gets around crime scenes in order to investigate the pending cases and it clashes with investigations led by Wan-seung. Though at first Wan-seung is reluctant, they eventually start working together on mysterious cases.

Meanwhile, SBS's "Saimdang, Light's Diary" and MBC's "Radiant Office," which air during the same time slot, received 8.3 percent and 6.7 percent ratings, respectively.

"Mystery Queen" is gradually making a place for itself. It was successful from the beginning but it is trying to maintain the top spot among its competitors.

The drama airs on KBS2 every Wednesday and Thursday at 22:00 (KST).
