One of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of 2017, Jab Harry Met Sejal starring Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma has reportedly been leaked online within 24 hours of its theatrical release. According to reports, a number of websites are offering free online streaming or an option to download an average copy of the film.
Despite the makers had taken precautionary measures to avoid online piracy, the film has unfortunately made its way to the digital media. Piracy has become the new trend after the government has listed downloading of movies from the web as a punishable offence.
The Imtiaz Ali film released on Aug 4 and as per reports it has already collected an approximate amount of Rs 20.5 crores on its opening day. Reports said that it has become the fourth biggest opener of 2017 after Baahubali, Tubelight and Raees.
In such a crucial stage, piracy can affect the business in a huge way as a movie production involves crores of money. And, when it comes to a movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, the stakes are quite high.
Several experts believe that probably people resort to such practices because it saves them money while they can catch the newly-released film in the comfort of their homes. However, it can still be assured that all those millions of Shah Rukh Khan fans would surely opt for the 70mm screen to watch Jab Harry Met Sejal rather than watching an average print online.
