Charlie Kirk Assassination: Dramatic Video Captures Moment Shooter Jumping form Rooftop and Fleeing Scene after Killing Conservative Activist

The footage shows the suspected gunman dressed in all black, sprinting across the roof of a campus building.

The FBI has released new footage that shows the still-at-large suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination jumping from his rooftop sniper spot and fleeing the scene just minutes after shooting the conservative activist on Wednesday. The video shows the suspect racing across the roof of the Lossee Center at Utah Valley University.

When he reaches the edge, he climbs down and jumps to the ground, leaving behind a palm print and a shoe print. The FBI and the Utah Department of Public Safety released the video from the Utah Valley University campus during a press conference on Thursday night, but officials said they had no new leads or arrests to report.

The footage shows the suspected gunman dressed in all black, sprinting across the roof of a campus building. As he nears the edge, he slows down, climbs down to the ground, and then casually walks through a parking lot toward a wooded area — where he leaves the gun behind.

From there, the suspect is believed to have escaped into a nearby residential neighborhood.

Earlier Thursday, the FBI released photos of the "person of interest," describing him as a college-aged man dressed entirely in black. He was wearing a cap with a triangle symbol and a shirt featuring the American flag and an eagle.

During the quick escape, the suspect left a palm print and other smudges on the roof — evidence investigators say could provide DNA to help track him down. Authorities stressed that they're still counting on the public's help to identify the killer, reminding people about the dedicated tip line and the $100,000 reward being offered.

The FBI says it has already received around 7,000 tips about the assassination — the highest number since the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

Clueless Hunt for Assailant

Kirk was shot in the neck and killed on Wednesday afternoon while hosting one of his well-known "Prove Me Wrong" debates at Utah Valley University, which was also the first stop on his "American Comeback" tour.

Video taken by people at the event shows Kirk collapsing as blood poured from his neck before he slipped out of his chair.

Chaos broke out as both supporters and protesters ran in panic, while his security team rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
