A US magazine has come up with claims that Ben Affleck's rumoured girlfriend Lindsay Shookus is pregnant. The Saturday Night Live producer and the Oscar-winning actor allegedly went public with their relationship because of the pregnancy.

An alleged source told OK! magazine: "There have been whispers that she might be pregnant with Ben's child, and that's why they decided to reveal they were together. Word is she has told people she wants another child."

"It's a lot to balance along with his workload and adjusting to being a single dad. The biggest fear is that he could easily take to drinking again to cope – or just because he's in love and having fun," the insider added.

Affleck and Jennifer Garner officially filed for divorce in April, after a two-year separation. The couple, who announced they are calling it quits on their marriage just one day after their 10th wedding anniversary in 2015, seeked joint custody of their children, Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5.

Shookus got married to Kevin Miller, a former SNL producer, in 2010. The two have a daughter together.

The Argo star and Shookus were spotted on a date night on July 6 in Los Angeles. Adding on, the new couple were also pictured while heading out of Beech Street Cafe on July 10 in Pacific Palisades, California.

Previously, Affleck's affair with his children's former nanny, Christine Ouzounian was cited as reason for divorce with Garner. However, the Daredevil star had defended her former husband saying: "Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny."

Garner explained: "She had nothing to with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It's not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives. I have had to have conversations [with my children] about the meaning of 'scandal.'"
