Amazon Prime Now just made a history in Singapore being the most downloaded app. Amazon took Little Red Dot by storm as it stunned Singaporeans with its two-hour delivery service. A month after its debut in the country, the retail giant has laid down the top 5 popular items bought at Prime Now in Singapore.
Amazon has revealed fresh milk, green tea, toilet paper, hot and spicy potato chips and, surprisingly, broccoli as the most popular purchased products on Prime Now. It has noted that in the first month alone, Prime Now has reached 79 of 80 postal sectors of the city-state.
Three unique items were also brought at Prime Now, like the Play-Doh ice cream castle toy, toy flamingo set and transmission cooler. The fastest order recorded was delivered to Choa Chu Kang in 24 seconds.
California-based market data and insights company App Annie reveals Prime Now was downloaded 2,500 times from the Apple App Store when launched on 27 July. Accordingly, this is "at least as big" as Facebook's highest day on 7 May 2017. On 30 July, Prime Now reached 11,000 downloads on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, making it the most downloaded app in Singapore.
Home-grown e-commerce Carousell reached 1,200 downloads from the Apple App Store on 2 January 2017.
