Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron has called it quits with model girlfriend Sami Miro. The couple dated for long two years before parting ways.
Reportedly, the High School Musical star has deleted all the photos of Miro on his Instagram and stopped following her on the social media.
According to an Insider report on E!, it was Efron who initiated the break-up with the 28-year-old.
"It wasn't an easy breakup. Distance and work schedules got in the way with their relationship and Zac wanted to focus on his career," the insider told E!.
The news report further added that the couple "did not have the same feelings for each other as they did when they first started dating."
Efron is currently busy filming the Baywatch remake alongside Dwayne Johnson in Georgia. His another much awaited movie 'Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising' is set to hit the screen next week.
Talking about Efron's career and the reason why he broke up with Miro, another source told Hollywood Life that the 28-year-old wishes to make it big in the industry and wants to be fully dedicated towards his career.
"He always wanted to be the next Leo DiCaprio and he hopes now that he has the box office behind him that producers and directors will start giving him more chances other than the lame romantic comedies he gets pitched every five minutes."
"All of this totally took a toll on his relationship with Sami. He was moving forward in his career and focusing everything on that and the relationship took the hit. There is no plans for reconciliation. It was him who broke things off and she is heartbroken!" the source asserted.
Efron previously dated High School Musical costar Vanessa Hudgens for three years before splitting in 2010.
