Overview

Poland's record so far in the tournament - two wins and two draws - makes them favourites for the first quarter-final clash of the ongoing European championship in France. They made it to the last eight after eliminating Switzerland in the Round of 16.

After the match ended in a 1-1 draw, the course of the match was decided on penalties. It was a miss from Arsenal summer signing Granit Xhaka that was the difference between two sides as Poland progressed further.

A late goal from Ricardo Quaresma in the second half of the extra-time was sufficient for Portugal to knock Coratia out of the tournament. They will be looking to eliminate Poland in order to make it to the semi-final of the Euro 2016.
