MBC Entertainment denies cancellation rumours of 'We Got Married' show

MBC Entertainment has finally responded to rumours about MBC Entertainment's show, We Got Married, that it is coming to an end. Initially, it was reported that the MBC show is coming to an end this May after airing for nine years. The same report also mentioned that Lunar New Year pilot show, Oppa Thoughts, is to replace We Got Married which is to start in mid-May.

However, Koreaboo mentioned that MBC Entertainment denied all such cancellation rumours.

MBC Entertainment stated, "Our position on We Got Married remains the same. We are currently not in discussions to cancel the show. Regarding Oppa Thoughts, we are preparing that show for broadcast but there have been no talks about its scheduling."

Since 2008, the show, We Got Married, is airing and has featured 48 different couples during this time.

Currently, the show is in its fourth season the couples are 5urprise's Gong Myung and Jung Hye Sung, Lee Guk Joo and Untouchable's Sleepy, and Choi Min Yong and Jang Do Yeon.

The show expanded its global edition where the celebrities from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan are also being paired. On the first season of the global edition, 2PM's Taecyeon was paired with Taiwanese singer Emma Wu and FTISLAND's Lee Hong Ki was paired with Japanese actress Mina Fujii.

The popularity of the show also resulted in various controversies including dating scandal. However, neither the controversies nor the cancellation rumours affected the show's popularity. In fact, it is still one of the most watched weekend programs. Watch your favourite couple on the We Got Married show every Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
