Liverpool fell behind in the race to the top of the Premier League table when they stumbled on the road on 4 December. The Reds succumbed to a 4-3 defeat against Bournemouth thereby ending their 11-match unbeaten run in the league this season.
However, the loss should hopefully be a temporary blip in their campaign with Sadio Mane declared fit for the clash after he limped off the field in the second half against Bournemouth. Joel Matip is also expected to be available for selection as he has returned from an ankle injury.
However, Liverpool will miss their main men Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho for Sunday's clash. Jurgen Klopp's men though would have learnt from their mistakes last week and will want to come back strong. The defeat has also come at the right time as a knock for the Reds, who would have regrouped and assessed their strategy.
Sunday's match will also be interesting as Liverpool faced defeat in both their league matches last season against the Hammers. They were thrashed at home 3-0 and lost their away fixture 2-0. The Reds are set to avenge their losses and close in on the gap on leaders Arsenal, who are four points clear at the top of the table with 34 points.
On the other hand, West Ham were crushed 5-1 at home by Arsenal in their last league outing. Slaven Bilic's side are also winless in their last five matches, which includes three defeats, and are placed 17th, a place above the relegation zone. With immense pressure on them, they will be striving hard to snatch at least a point at Anfield.
