Ji Chang Wook to undergo lasik surgery to accelerate military ranking

The Healer actor is planning to get a LASIK surgery done and retake the exam for a first class rank.

Actor Ji Chang Wook, who is currently basking in the success of The K2, has revealed that he would like to regulate his lifestyle after joining military enlistment. He is likely to begin his service this year.

In a recent interview, as reported by Soompi, the actor said that he has been working non-stop over the years and military would give him the required time to regulate his lifestyle and recharge the energy levels.

He also revealed that he could only get a third class rank for active duty in the physical exam due to his poor vision. The Healer actor is planning to get a LASIK surgery done and retake the exam for a first class rank.

"Going to the military is a must for any Korean citizen. My friends and people around me enlist, too, so I don't feel regretful or anything," he added.

The actor is gearing up for the release of his first lead role in the film "Fabricated City" on February 9. He also talked about his big screen insecurities as this will be his first lead role.

"I don't know anything about what makes a movie successful or its 'ticket power.' I think it's all up to the audience to decide. But what I do know is that I don't lack confidence. While I am confident, it is true that I am lacking in ways since this is my first time. However, I believe this will actually be an advantage because the audience will be able to experience something new without any expectations," he was quoted saying.

The film narrates the story of a gamer who is framed as the prime suspect of a shocking crime - the rape and murder of a high school girl. With the help of his fellow gamer Demolition and a hacker, he sets out to uncover the truth and clear his name. Directed by Park Kwang-hyun, this action-crime thriller also stars Shim Eun-kyung and Ahn Jae-hong in important roles.
