Local Chinese dailies have reported that Jackie Chan's estranged daughter Etta Ng has been hospitalised in Honk Kong after an alleged suicide attempt. Etta was born to Jackie and Elaine after a short extra-marital affair with former beauty queen Elaine Ng. The 17-year-old teenager has been emotionally distressed and has hurt herself, Oriental Daily reported.

Ng along with her mother left for Thailand last week for a holiday but the teenager cut short the vacation and returned to Hong Kong secretly. Reportedly, she checked into a hospital soon after landing. AsiaOne stated that Prior to the trip, Ng had posted a status on Facebook, where she wrote: "Leaving HK for a bit tomorrow. I'm still alive, for those who are wondering." Reportedly, she has been sharing a lot of articles on suicide and depression for the past few month on her page.

Ng's relationship with her mother, which has always been on a roller coaster ride, is said to be the reason for her stress. Weeks ago, Ng called the police to arrest her own mother after an intimidation between the two. However, this was not the first time Ng is accusing her mother of physical abuse. Earlier in 2015, she put forward a similar accusation.

Soon after the news broke, Jackie's relationship with Elaine and his estranged daughter Ng has once again gained the spotlight. According to Ming Pao Daily News, Jackie's close friend and producer Tiffany Chen recently defended the action star and has revealed that he is "a man of affection who has cried over his love child, Etta Ng, many times." Interestingly, last week, Elaine and her lawyer Mary Jean Reimer addressed the press and claimed that Ng hasn't received a penny yet from father Jackie despite facing constant financial difficulties.

To this accusation, Chen replied, "Someone was determined to give birth. Etta is the most innocent, most pitiful one because she had no choice. Her mother had a choice. When Etta is big enough, 21, I believe Jackie will give Etta money, but not her mummy." On the other hand, in a 2015 interview, Ng described Jackie as "just a stranger" and added that "he is just my biological father."
