Indonesia Comic Con: Brianna Hildebrand, pop icons grace Jakarta event

Comic Con organiser, Reed Panorama Exhibitions, boasted that this year the event is much larger and more exciting.

The much awaited Indonesia Comic Con (ICC) started with a bang in Jakarta. Hollywood actress Brianna Hildebrand, known for her role as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Marvel's blockbuster Deadpool, graced the two-day pop culture festival at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan in Central Jakarta.

According to Jakarta Post, the Comic Con organiser, Reed Panorama Exhibitions, said that this year the event is much larger in size and much more exciting.

Several exhibitors from Canada, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the US and Indonesia took part in the event.

Japanese actors Hiroshi Fujioka (Kamen Rider) and Hiroshi Watari (Uchuu Keiji Shariva) also took the opportunity to meet and interact with their fans at the exhibition.

Exclusive products from XM Studios and the Batcave diorama were displayed by Red Diorama for the visitors.

Moreover, exclusive products were released by Tokidoki as part of its partnership with the Indonesia Comic Con. Sanrio also showcased limited collections of its new popular character, the lazy egg Gudetama, in the exhibition.

Other than the exhibition, world-renowned cosplayers, toymakers such as Lego and Flabslab, animators with Goshen Media and Lumine Studio and Walt Disney Indonesia held spectacular events.

According to the news agency, James Boey, general manager of Reed Panorama Exhibitions/ReedPOP, said that this year's exhibition was an upgrade from previous events.

"This year, the ICC has developed new areas namely Comic Zone, Movie Zone, Star Wars Zone, Family Zone and Gaming Zone. We expect the event to be an unforgettable experience for pop-culture lovers," he said.

India will be the next stop for Comic Con 2016. Comic Con India has announced the official dates for the events in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi and will be there for September, October, November and December.
