Gong Yoo's Goblin ready to steal hearts in Philippines

South Korea's most successful drama Goblin is all set to steal the hearts of fans in the Philippines. Hallyu fans in the country are on cloud nine after ABS-CBN aired the pilot episode of the Korean drama on Monday night. The 16-episode drama will be aired on weeknights on the Kapamilya network.

The drama portrays the romance between a high school girl, played by Kim Go Eun and Goblin, an adult male in his 30s, played by Gong Yoo. Also known as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, the series narrates the story of a Joseon warrior Kim Shin and his curse for an eternal life. To break the 900-year old quest, he needs the help of a human bride Ji Eun Tak. The supernatural bromance between Yoo and Lee Dong Yook, perfectly timed romance and the mysterious past definitely made the fans go into a frenzy. Its final episode recorded an epic nationwide audience share making it the highest rated drama in Korean cable television history.
