Golden disk awards have issued an official apology to singer Taeyeon. The South Korean singer faced some technical malfunction during her live performance at the award ceremony.

According to a report in Koreaboo, the production staff of the award show explained the reason of the incident to the fans and apologised. The formal apology read: "Even though there were no difficulties during the rehearsals – a misunderstanding caused a problem for Taeyeon and she couldn't show a perfect performance as shown in the rehearsal, and we are very sorry. We apologise to Taeyeon, the fans and the viewers. We will be more careful to not cause further incidents in the future."

The singer was asked to rush to the stage as she was informed at the last minute that there is very less time left for her song to start playing on stage. As a result, the track started playing earlier than the singer's expectations and she had to rush to the stage with her earpiece not properly attached to her dress.

However, the Rain singer handled the difficult and extremely embarrassing situation with commendable professionalism and chose to continue to deliver her performance with grace and smile in spite of the earpiece that could be seen dangling on her right arm. On January 13, the singer received the Digital Bonsang Award for her song Rain and the malfunction at the event raised many eyebrows.
