Doctors star Kim Rae Won reveals what he would have become if not an actor

Doctors is about a girl from a bullied childhood who keeps her heart shut away from other people.

Hallyu Star Kim Rae Won, who portrays the character of a medical professional in SBS drama 'Doctors', has revealed he wanted to be a doctor himself.

During his appearance at product participation for the upcoming medical romantic-comedy starring Park Shin Hye as a female lead, Rae Won revealed that he considered medicine as a possible career before entering the Korean entertainment world.

"I did also consider studying medicine once. There are a lot of doctors in my family, so if I hadn't become an actor, I probably would have become a doctor," the actor told overseas media. Agreeing with the 35-year-old, the producer of medical life inspired drama said: "Kim Rae Won's resolute and logical image was an excellent match for the character Ji Hong."

When asked about the characters and roles the actor would like to experiment with in future, Rae Won replied: "I was once cast as a disabled child, but the situation didn't work out so I wasn't able to go through with it. I'd definitely like to try that kind of role, so that I can grow as an actor."

Doctors is about a girl who comes from a bullied childhood and through self-preservation has kept her heart shut away from other people. However, she transforms after meeting her mentor Hong Ji-hong (Kim Rae-won), who changes her dark life and turns her into a compassionate doctor.

Doctors airs every Monday and Tuesday at 22:00-time on SBS.
