Fans are eagerly waiting for the sequel of the popular TV series, "Descendants of the Sun" and showrunners are possibly wondering how to match up the success of the first season in the upcoming instalment. "Descendants of the Sun" wrapped up in April, last year but it is still one of the most talked about dramas. So to live up to that standard, the KBS2 series starring Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki is to cast "The Legend of the Blue Sea" star Lee Min Ho, Yibada reported.
Well, Min Ho topped two international surveys and is one of the most favourite South Korean actors in the world today, so the choice to adding him to the cast is very logical. The actor was also one of the winners of the 12th Annual Soompi Awards.
Recently, "The Heirs" actor was voted as the Actor of the Year beating the "Descendants of the Sun" lead actor, Joong Ki and also other popular Korean stars including Park Bo Gum, Eric Mun, Ji Chang Wook, Jang Hyuk, Ji Sung, Jo Jin Woong, Jo Jung Suk and Kim Rae Won.
In the same survey, "Descendants of the Sun" female lead Hye Kyo won the Actress of the Year award beating Min Ho's rumoured girlfriend Suzy and other popular stars including Park Shin Hye, Yoona, IU, UEE, Jun Ji Hyun, Kim So Hyun, Kim Hye Soo, Kim Yoo Jung, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Sung Kyung and Hwang Jung Eum.
According to Straits Times, in another international survey, conducted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, almost 4,700 United States-based fans of the Korean Wave voted for their favourite South Korean stars. In the said survey, Min Ho was voted as the top actor while the top actress category was won by Shin Hye.
The three popular stars- Min Ho, Suzy, Joong Ki and Hye Kyo in the same TV show will undoubtedly be magical, and therefore "Descendants of the Sun 2" will surely me the most-awaited show for the fans.
