Coldplay announced on 21 November that they will release their eighth album, titled the Kaleidoscope EP in 2017. The British rock band took to Twitter to share the news of their upcoming album and said the Coldplay members are currently busy recording tracks for Kaleidoscope.

"Hello everyone, we're working on some new songs for next year. It's called the Kaleidoscope ep. We hope you're well," Coldplay tweeted.

Although, Chris Martin recently compared the band's latest album to "the last Harry Potter book" and described it as a "completion of the band", it seems that Coldplay fans can still hope for new impressive music from the band. The band did not disclose any further details of the upcoming album.

Coldplay's previous album, A Head Full of Dreams, released in 2015 and it achieved double platinum status in the UK selling over four million copies so far.

The four-member British band was formed in 1996 and has enjoyed huge popularity worldwide. They are scheduled to give a live performance in Singapore on 1 April at the National Stadium.

Apart from Singapore, Coldplay will also perform in Philippines (4 April), Taiwan (12 April), Korea (15 April) and Japan (19 April).
