Calvin Harris to join The X Factor after his Jedward stage-crashing in 2009?

Calvin Harris was given a lifelong ban from the X factor in 2009.

Calvin Harris is reportedly in talks to join The X Factor. According to a report in The Sun, Rita Ora's former boyfriend will join Nicole Scherzinger at the Judge's Houses.

The Scottish DJ was given a lifelong ban from the ITV show in 2009 after storming on stage during a live Jedward performance with a pineapple on his head. A source said: "Calvin is rightly regarded as one of the biggest artists in music due to his phenomenal chart success."

"Simon wants A-listers on board and made a beeline for Calvin, ensuring him there would be no issues after the Jedward row. It was a long time ago and both have moved on so much since then," the insider added.

Meanwhile, Harris had defended his antics on X Factor. He said at that time: "I was just inspired to make a mockery of the show. Because it is a music competition, it is a joke and I think it should be treated as such, so when people were saying 'John and Edward, maybe they deserve to stay in this week', I was like 'are you watching what I'm watching?'"

"It's terrible, it's terrible... For the greater good of the nation I wanted to go out there and make an idiot of myself and sort of just bring the whole show into another kind of area in which it's treated as kind of a joke," Taylor Swift's former boyfriend added.
