BTS, Seo Taiji collaboration project set

BTS will be making a cover version of Seo Taiji's 1995 hit "Come Back Home" that will be released today at 6 PM.

The collaboration project between legendary Korean singer Seo Taiji and Korean boy band BTS will be happening starting today.

Seo Taiji was immensely popular in the 1990s as part of the group Seo Taiji and Boys together with Lee Juno and Yang Hyun-suk, who is the founder of YG Entertainment. The group debuted in 1992 but disbanded in 1996 during the height of their popularity.

For his 25th anniversary this year, Seo Taiji has decided to collaborate with BTS under the project "Seo Taiji 25 Project [Time: Traveler]."

Under this, BTS will be making a cover version of Seo Taiji's 1995 hit "Come Back Home" that will be released today at 6 PM.

BTS will also join the singer at his concert "MOOVːSoundtrack vol.2 'SEOTAIJI 25" slated on September 2 at Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul, according to Soompi, and perform several songs from the albums of Seo Taiji and Boys.

"With BTS, Seo will perform his earliest songs exactly as they were performed in the 1990s," Seo Taiji's label said, Korea Herald reported. "From selecting songs to designing the stage, he is putting every effort into preparing for this special stage."

Seo Taiji debuted in 1992 with the song "Nan Arayo," which stayed on top of music charts for 17 weeks that eventually won the Golden Disc Award. Their disbandment in 1996 was mourned by their fans.

In the Korean drama "Reply 1988," Seo Taiji and Boys was included in the story as the group idolized by actress Min Do-hee.

BTS, meanwhile, recently wrapped up their Japan tour with 145,000 fans attending their concerts in Osaka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Saitama, Fukuoka, and Sapporo, according to a report by the Korea Herald report

Their Japan concerts under "2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III The Wings Tour" spanned from May to July and all were sold out.

"We're so happy and thankful to meet our Japanese fans through the tour. Our concerts are not just us showing our performance to you fans, but are created in tandem," BTS said.
