After Bixby Voice debut, Samsung reveals exciting plans for voice assistant

After launching the Galaxy Note 8 flagship today, Samsung also announced new additions to the Bixby digital assistant. The company confirmed that Bixby will soon get Spotify support.

Now that Bixby Voice has been made available to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus handsets in more than 200 countries, Samsung has already mapped out some exciting plans coming up for the intelligent voice assistant. Good news for other Samsung Galaxy owners because the South Korean tech giant is now confirmed gearing up for the release to non-Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users.

Samsung has a lot of work to do if it is serious with Bixby Voice to fare up with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant. The industry's current leaders have received raves for being really intelligent with skill count that is hard to topple. But for Samsung, it looks like the game is on with its Bixby Voice roadmap.

Bixby Home for Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017)

Meanwhile, the forthcoming Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has been confirmed in the recently leaked user manual for the tablet to launch with Bixby Home on board. However, it remains a mystery whether or not Bixby Voice will arrive as well for the device.

Upcoming Galaxy devices are also poised to get the voice assistant. For older devices, Samsung is admittedly beset with compatibility issues, but it has not closed the possibility that software updates might make it happen. Nevertheless, older Samsung Galaxy device owners can still get Bixby through sideloading it.
