Could artificial intelligence cause World War 3? Elon Musk fears it might

Space X founder Elon Musk has issued a strong warning to human community stating that artificial intelligence robots will pose huge risks to our survival in the future. According to Musk, humans have just 5 to 10 percent chance of preventing killer AI robots from destroying our civilization. Just a few days before, Elon Musk has talked about the necessity of imposing regulations on artificial intelligence, as advanced killer robots are capable of wiping out human beings from the earth.

Musk gave this startling warning during a speech delivered at one of his companies, Neuralink. After issuing the warning, Elon Musk asked his employees to go and sleep well. Soon, the CEO ate some popcorn and started coughing. Then, Elon Musk satirically said that when the whole team is talking about threats to humanity, he is choking to death for eating a popcorn.

The need of regulating artificial intelligence

Many scientists all over the world have previously warned about the necessity of regulating the implementation of artificial intelligence robots. Elon Musk has also shared similar beliefs in the past, and he believes that proper regulations will stop humanity from being outsmarted by artificial intelligence robots, so that trigger of wars created by manipulating information can be combated.

"Once there is awareness, people will be extremely afraid, as they should be...By the time we are reactive in AI regulation, it'll be too late," said Musk during a question-and-answer session at the summer conference of the National Governors Association few days ago, Daily Mail UK reports.

Musk also made it clear that Governments all around the world should foresee the risks posed by artificial intelligence, and should implement regulations now itself to prevent future damages. He also criticized authorities for regulating things only when a bunch of bad things happens. According to Musk, it is quite necessary to implement regulations before a possible mishap occurs.

Earlier, during one of his interviews, Musk said that embracing Artificial Intelligence is similar to summoning the devil. He also added that the impact of virtual reality has reached such a point that it cannot be distinguished from the material reality.
