WhatsApp slams the door shut on prying eyes with full encryption

WhatsApp communication is now fully encrypted

Imagine you're talking to your buddies on some random topic in a cafe. Suddenly you notice a dictaphone under your table that recorded everything you just said, but for someone else. Scary, isn't it? Or how about your every move getting spied?

You must have heard Apple vs. FBI case and its outcome. I'm pretty sure that must have got you thinking about your privacy online. Although I'm a tech writer, I'm just as much worried as you about this whole privacy stuff.

Now even the WhatsApp has rolled out full end-to-end encryption for all your communication. What this simply means is only the sender and the receiver will be able to see the communication and no one else. Not even the makers of the WhatsApp.

As WhatsApp is now owned by Facebook, it also tells us its approach towards online privacy. Makers of the app have made sure that the encryption is available for everyone including the now obsolete S40 and Symbian S60 users. Agreed WhatsApp is just one of the platforms we use for communications, but we may see others following the suit soon. Having privacy is online is just as important as having it in the real world. This is just the beginning.
