WhatsApp may soon roll out feature of recalling sent messages

Reportedly, the iOS users will be the first one to get to experience this feature via their next software update

After Gmail, now it will be possible to recall a sent message on WhatsApp. Following some major updates and shuffles with the status feature, now it seems like the messaging app is ready to roll out this brand new feature, under which users will be able to recall a message within five minutes from sending it, reported WABetaInfo.

WABetaInfo is the name of a Twitter handle that provides updates and details of yet-to-be-released WhatsApp features.

"The revoke feature (called now "unsend") should be available very soon, but probably we should wait the next iOS official update before," WABetaInfo tweeted on Monday.

As per the Twitter handle, the iOS users will be the first one to get to experience this feature via their next software update.

It added: "The new WA Web update adds many improvements for revoked messages, modifying the time limit to unsend messages (5 min)."

While Gmail already has an option "undo send" to recall sent emails, it was a long due feature that WhatsApp users were anticipating for since quite some time now.

Initially this year, a rumour surfaced on the internet, which said that WhatsApp users are going to get a notification if another user takes a screenshot of their chats. Later on, the company released a statement denying any such plan.

So, it's always good to take all these rumours with a pinch of salt in order to not put high expectation on something that would never take place.
