MBC TV reality show 'We Got Married' recently made headlines for an alleged 'no dating to any celebrities' on the show contract. 'Producer Heo Hwang and other production staffs held a press conference at the MBC studio building to clarify the rumours. They said the team has not signed any contracts as such but an oral agreement—a sort of promise—was made before the show.

"There is no contract. However, we ask, 'Please keep this mind,' when face to face. When celebrities come on board, they realize the expectations. That part is sort of a promise with the viewers. We have a process of getting their word as an oral agreement," the producer said.,

The virtual marriage show, which was hit by low ratings and bad reviews, bounced back recently with a fresh lineup in its cast. Actor Choi Tae-joon is paired with Yoon Bo-mi of girl group Apink; rapper Sleepy of hip hop duo Untouchable with comedian Lee Guk-joo; and actor Gong Myung with actress Jung Hye-sung.

The producers were also asked about the show's authenticity, many believe that the situations are scripted but the team rubbished the reports and claimed that it is a reality. They further explained that there is a cue sheet and the fun decreases when the viewers are able to predict their actions. "We stepped in to help if [the couples] go to dangerous locations or non-celebrities interfere. We never tell the couples to go somewhere at a certain time and do certain things. We just say do whatever you guys want," AllKPop reported as quoted saying by Hwang.

When asked about the nine-year-old show's declining ratings on television, Hwang was quoted saying, "Netizens and viewers feel the most fatigue over the repetitive format, including how cast members first hide their identity and then disclose it. So when I took on the program I thought I might as well make it completely new."

The producers also revealed that they pair up celebrities have high chances of becoming a real-life couple, which means they prefer casting celebrities who are single. "Reality is our goal, and if (a cast member) is photographed with someone else, viewers often turn their backs on us, and this is reflected in viewership ratings as well," Huh added.

Well, we are vouching for Gong Myung-Jung Hye Sung to become a real-life couple.
