A screen grab from video

A video footage of passenger jet plane being struck by lightning has gone viral on YouTube with more than 140,000 views. However, what is more interesting is that the alien hunters believe that a UFO was photographed soaring over an airport just before the plane, travelling to Lima, was hit by lightning.

This mysterious incident has actually confused the conspiracy theorists as the UFO-like object was visible just moments before the terrifying incident took place.

Initially, the video clip showed several planes arriving at the Amsterdam's Schipol airport when suddenly a small white object was seen flying across the screen above the aircraft.

The video was also posted on conspiracy site Disclose.tv with a captaion that said: "Is it a bird, or a very fast drone or probe? Or is it something else?" As soon as the video was uploaded, people started posting their opinions online.

"If you slow it down it looks like a seagull," one user commented. While, another user disagreed to this and said: "I don't think seagulls fly that fast and have lights." Meanwhile, a third user commented saying: "That has to be a UFO."

According to reports, the aircraft that was struck mid-air by lightning managed to reach its destination at Lima airport on its scheduled time that was some 12 hours and 40 minutes later.
