TWICE creates yet another record, sells concert tickets in just 40 minutes

TWICE recently created a record with the pre-order bookings of the Christmas edition of their third mini-album TWICE coaster: Lane 1. According to their agency, JYP Entertainment, the album has surpassed 115,000 pre-order booking before release. And now, they have sold their concert tickets in 40 minutes.

The bookings kicked open on January 20 through Interpark, fans thronged into the site immediately and according to AllKPop, "all the seatings from standing to reserved were sold out in just 40 minutes." The concert will take place from February 17-19 at Seoul Olympic Park entitled, TWICE 1st TOUR TWICELAND - THE OPENING.

In 2016, the girls already had a dream run by selling about 225,000 copies of their two versions of the third mini-album. According to the Gaon chart, the girls sold 220,000 copies of the album so far, making TWICE the highest selling girl group in Gaon's history as well. Started in 2015, the road to success was never a catwalk for TWICE but they made sure to trounce all the hurdles with hard work and excellence. Today, with an amazing fan base across the globe, TWICE is already compared to two legendary Kpop girl bands, 2NE1 and Girls Generation. They are also one of the few Kpop bands to top the Billboard charts for more than 4 weeks.

The nine member team consists of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. Nayeon is the oldest and most experienced in the group, Jeongyeon is the talented singer and actress, Momo Hira or Momo is the Japanese-born main dancer while Sana Minatozaki is the smiling-beauty. Jihyo is the leader and the main vocalist, US-born Mina Myoui is a gracious dancer, rockstar Kim DaHyun or Dahyun is the craziest, shy and aggressive while Chaeyoung is a prankster and lastly, Tzuyu is the youngest and charming.

The group debuted on October 20, 2015, with the mini-album The Story Begins. Their hit songs Like OOH-AHH (2015), Cheer Up (2016) and TT (2016), has generated more than 100 million hits on YouTube altogether.
