Overview

Sydney Sixers opened their campaign, beating Thunder by a solid nine-wicket margin to brush off the memories of last season's campaign, in which they finished last. Moises Henrqieus' side has been looking solid since then, clinching three wins out of five encounters.

Sixers are heading into their home game high on confidence after beating table-toppers Brisbane Heat by three wickets. After a five-day break, the hosts are well placed to clinch the top spot. Opener Daniel Hughes continued his good form with another solid knock and combined well with Brad Haddin, who struck a 13-ball 32 in successful chase of 187.

England import, Sam Billings, who failed in the previous game, would want to get back to scoring ways and a big game at home provides a good opportunity for the left-hander. Apart from their batting exploits, Sixers have been among the few sides in the season who have found some success with the ball.

Sean Abbott has played a key role in Sixers' campaign picking up 12 wickets from five matches and is leading the wicket-takers chart. 22-year-old New South Wales pacer Ben Dwarshuis has provided good support to Abbott.

Meanwhile, Renegades were thrashed by Melbourne Stars in the seeason's second Melbourne derby on 7 January by a big 46-run margin. In chase of 201, their batsmen were struggling against the likes of Michael Beer and Adam Zampa, who shared six wickets between them.

The visitors will want to click as a batting unit and the presence of Finch, who was ignored by the national selectors for Pakistan One Day International series, will boost their chances. Renegades, who have won two out of their four games, have a good opportunity to join the top-four if they manage to outclass the hosts on Monday.
