Thirteen-member Korean idol group Seventeen set a record by topping a major music chart in Korea.

The boy band's new album "AI1" sold 192,399 copies and took the No. 1 spot on Hanteo music chart's weekly album sales tally for the period May 22 to 28. It also put Seventeen in the Top 10 of all-time Hanteo album sales.

This erased Seventeen's previous first week album sales of 131,998 for "Going Seventeen."

Sales of "AI1" put the boy band at second place to date for first week albums sales of boy band in 2017.

"AI1" is Seventeen's fourth mini-album that contains eight songs including the title track "Don't Wanna Cry."

Upon its release, the album topped the iTunes Top Albums charts in Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan and made it to Top 10 in Japan, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

The music video for "Don't Wanna Cry" has garnered 7.76 million views since its upload on YouTube last May 22.

Billboard has noted that Seventeen have changed their music style in the new album.

"Gone are the days of funky pop goodness from Seventeen -- at least with their most recent EP Al1. Lead track 'Don't Wanna Cry' takes Seventeen in a new direction, veering away from their bright, brassy singles of the past two years in favor of an EDM sound that wouldn't be out of place on any top 40 chart," according to a Billboard.com article.

It said "Don't Wanna Cry" has become "a major change for the group that became known for their exuberant approach to pop."

"'Don't Wanna Cry' has a more subtle sound than many of their previous hits, slowly building from the pre-chorus to the song's titular hook before drawing back to the more restrained verses, followed by the sound picking up again," Billboard added.

The title track, Billboard said, is an indication of "a maturing for Seventeen as they move from more vibrant, youthful releases, arriving a few months after their youngest member, Dino, turned 18 in February."

Seventeen's members are Dino, Vernon, The8, Seungkwan, Mingyu, DK, Woozi, Hoshi, Joshua, Jun, Jeonghan, Wonwoo and S.Coups.
