Pokemon GO: How to recover Poke Balls and other starter tips

The ultimate guide and starter tips for beginners to enhance Pokemon GO gameplay experience.

Avid Pokemon GO fans are in for some exciting news as it is possible to recover Poke Balls that missed the target using a simple trick or glitch in the game. The harder you try catching a Pokemon that much likely you are going to waste the Poke Balls after every failed attempt.

Quite surprisingly, here is a simple trick to recover the Poke Ball after a failed throw (courtesy Android Central):

  • Just tap the Poke Ball before it rolls off the screen after a failed throw, and it will be added back to your inventory.
  • Although the glitch may not work every time, it does work if you try multiple times.
  • Given the limited number of Poke Balls available in your inventory, this trick could especially come in handy when you are low on Poke Ball count and trying to catch a tough Pokemon.

Before you even embark on your epic adventure catching Pokemons in the real world, here are some quick starter tips to get the best Pokemon GO experience, with due credit to Android Central:

Pikachu is newbie's best bet

When you start a new game in Pokemon GO, you will be offered a choice of selecting between three starter Pokemons. However, your best bet is to walk away from the three options for a couple of times and then the game presents a fourth Pokemon known as 'Pikachu'.

The Pikachu has the speed advantage as it is lightning fast and can come in handy while fighting rival Pokemons during Gym battles. You will get enough time to level up your Pikachu with other skill upgrades as the Gym battle happens only after you reach level 5 in the game.

Map out all local PokeStops

Whenever you visit a new PokeStop such as a church, museum or some other random place, make a note of it on a small piece of paper. Try figuring out the nearest PokeStops to your home, so that you don't have to walk long distances to stock up on free items such as Poke Balls and potions in the real world.

Practice Curveball Throws

The early days of your adventure in Pokemon GO can be tedious if you don't know how to effectively throw your Poke Ball. So, start practicing the technique of throwing a curveball with accuracy, every time you attempt capturing a Pokemon. More curveball throws will simply yield you more XP or experience points than normal throws.

Always play with friends

Make friends while you embark on your hunt for Pokemons as more players will translate to more strength for your team. Besides, if one person uses a Lure Module everyone else in the same team can benefit out of it, as more Pokemons will surface in the same location.

Finally, when you reach level 5, you will have a solid team of your own and you can plan strategies to protect your own Gym or attack rival Gyms.

Analyse your local Pokemon habitat

In order to level up your Pokemon quickly, you need to collect a lot of the same type of Pokemon as it will earn you Candy and Stardust that are needed for evolving and increasing the power of your Pokemon. Analyse what type of Pokemons are common in your area and try catching as many of them as possible.

Once you have a sizable number, you can acquire a Lucky egg to double the experience while evolving each of your Pokemon.
