Park Bo Gum and Red Velvet's Irene to step down as Music Bank hosts

The two will be carrying out their position till the end of June.

Park Bo Gum and Red Velvet's Irene are bidding adieu to their Emcee status. The duo will no longer be seen entertaining the audience in the KBS music television program Music Bank.

On 16 June, the makers of the show revealed that both Irene and Bo Gum decided to step down due to their tough schedules. KBS representative stated : "Park Bo Gum and Irene, have decided to leave 'Music Bank' due to their busy schedules. We have been discussing [their] leave after determining that it would be difficult for them to continue MC-ing on live broadcasts due to drama filmings, etc, and recently came to the final conclusion. "

Both the stars have been hosting the show for the past 13 months.

While the new hosts of the music show have not been revealed, the makers stated that they are still in the process of selecting the replacement. Previously, Rain, Song Hye-kyo, Song Joong-ki, Ji Sung and Park Seo-joon has graced the show with their incredible audience-engaging skills.

As per reports, the two will be carrying out their position till the end of June. Following that, Bo Gum will start shooting for his upcoming drama Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, and Irene will get back to prepare for Red Velvet's summer comeback.
