NU'EST member Baekho has written a letter for fans regarding the death of his father. His dad died in an accident on July 3 in Jeju Island, South Korea. After his family informed him of the sad news, Baekho immediately flew to his hometown. The burial was held on July 6.

In his letter, Baekho said, "I want to first say thank you," AllKPop reported. He thanked all those who helped him during the personal crisis. "When something that I couldn't even dream of happened, I didn't know what to do and I didn't know if it was real. The people who helped me up at that moment were all the people who loved me, and the thoughts of all the fans," he wrote.

He added, "There were many people who came the distance, such as Pledis Entertainment's many employees and artists, to stay by my side. I was also able to gain strength from all the love that fans sent me carefully, and I was so grateful and sorry."

Baekho participated in the Korean survival TV show "Produce 101" using his real name Kang Dong Ho and finished in the Top 20. Three other members, Hwang Min-hyun, Kim Jonghyun and Choi Min Ki, also became contestants. Hwang Min-hyun was chosen in the Top 11 and will debut in the temporary boy band Wanna One.

"Thanks to you, I was able to send my father on his last journey. If my father knew so many people were giving me strength, he would have been very happy," he added in his letter. "I have only received from my fans. I have received love that I can't believe. I have received trust and condolences that most people can't receive in one lifetime. I don't know how to give it all back. Thank you. I'm sorry that this is all I can say right now. I will be back soon."

His father's passing came as NU'EST was preparing for their comeback.
