People across the globe witnessed the biggest and the brightest full moon or supermoon that lighted up the night sky this week.
The moon does not go aroun d the Earth in a perfectly circular orbit, its distance can carry by as much as 14 per cent. A supermoon is a result of the Moon's elliptical orbit when it is at its closest to Earth.
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), this supermoon, was extraordinarily special as the size of the moon will not be this big until Nov 25, 2034.
The supermoon was about 14 per cent larger in diameter and about 30 percent brighter than when it's at its furthest from the Earth.
